Neurocognitive Training
Auditory Neurocognitive Training
Auditory neurocognitive training can begin three to seven months after your auditory integration training. Your initial auditory test and follow-up test results determine your readiness for improving auditory cognitive processing skills. Research shows that each program listed below improves auditory processing skills.
Acoustic Pioneer helps children improve auditory processing skills with the help of an audiologist or speech therapist.
L.A.C.E. helps teens and adults with hearing loss improve their abilities to listen and remember when there is competing background speech and noise.
Hear Builders improves rhyming; recognition of word and vowel families; blending sounds to make a word; auditory memory; following directions; story sequencing; and attribution skills. The program is designed for children and young teens. Professionals can determine skill areas and difficulty levels for each user or users can simply start at the beginning of each program. All progress is automatically tracked and reports are available. Professionals and adults can choose to purchase Hear Builders. If you are curious, any age can enjoy the free one-month home program.
Nerointervention Programs: Berard-based & iLS Auditory Integration Training
Research has shown that Berard Auditory Integration Training strengthens auditory neural pathways. The client’s pre-and-post Test of Auditory Processing Skills showed improved scores. An iLs study found that client’s Central Auditory Processing Deficit test scores improved after completing iLs auditory integration training.
Vision Therapy
In-Office and at Home with Home Training Systems (HTS)
A neuro-rehabilitation optometrist provides in-office vision therapy, your Home Training System program, and vision therapy homework. Your optometrist individualizes your HTS program; provides access and equipment. Your payment covers the cost of using your HTS computer program for two years or longer.
Auditory-Visual Neurocognitive Training: Brain HQ
When a client’s post auditory and visual evaluation shows readiness, programs like BrainHQ are used to strengthen your ability to process what is seen and heard resulting in more instinctive responses.
A longitudinal study found the benefits continued for ten years after completing about nine months of the program.
Brain HQ improves auditory and visual processing skills in teens and adults.
BrainHQ uses all the training programs below to improve auditory and visual processing skills.
