Who Needs AIT?

The Berard Auditory Integration Training program is the only listening intervention program which uses the results of each client’s hearing test.  The focus is on, “What does your brain do with what you hear?”  Some people might think only about the workings of the inner ears when they consider “poor”, “normal” or “good” hearing.  For this reason, it’s worth emphasizing that the brain is a crucial part of the auditory system.  AIT was designed to normalize the entire auditory system, so it facilitates improvements in how the brain processes and organizes the input received from the ears.  Dr. Berard developed Auditory Integration Training in France and spent the next thirty plus years researching and improving his program’s ability to help people of all ages without disabilities, as well as those diagnosed with:

  • Dyslexia/learning disabilities
  • ADD & ADHD
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Central Auditory Processing Deficits
  • Cerebral Palsy & Down Syndrome
  • Hearing deficits (transition into a hearing aid)
  • Tinnitus (helps some when combined with supplements)
  • Sound sensitivities
  • Unclear speech, stuttering, and echolalia
